Williams Partners to acquire Access Midstream

Williams Partners LP will pay $5.99 billion to acquire 50 percent of the general partner interest and 55.1 million limited partner units in Oklahoma City-based Access Midstream Partners LP held by Global Infrastructure Partners, reports the Business Journal in Youngstown. Access Midstream is the Chesapeake Energy spin-off that operates the UEO Buckeye gas processing plant near Kensington, Ohio, in Columbiana County. Tulsa-based Williams also wants to merge with Access Midstream as part of a transaction expected to close in the third quarter this year. For more, read the full story.
