West Virginia CEO sees ‘generational’ opportunity with ethane ‘cracker’ projects

The CEO of a West Virginia manufacturing company says that with Royal Dutch Shell's ethane “cracker” plant under construction in western Pennsylvania and PTT Global Chemical's proposed cracker facility in eastern Ohio still on the table, it is no longer a question of “if” but “when” West Virginia’s Northern Panhandle will benefit from petrochemical projects. “This opportunity is generational – it’s the best opportunity we’ve had to see growth in the Valley for 50 years,” Eagle Manufacturing CEO Joe Eddy told the State Journal in Charleston, West Virginia. He said there already is a significant amount of interest from chemical companies and plastics processors looking for property in the Northern Panhandle where Eagle is based.
