Statoil completes $96 million sale of oil and gas assets in West Virginia

Norwegian energy company Statoil has completed a sale of certain oil and natural gas assets in West Virginia, while retaining some of its shale acreage in the Appalachia region, reports United Press International (UPI). The news service says Statoil recently closed on the $96 million sale of 11,500 acres in the Marcellus shale play to Antero Resources Corp. The Norwegian company also retains about 350,000 net acres in Ohio, according to UPI. For more, read the full story.
