Shale boom helps Tuscarawas County’s commercial real estate market

Realtors in Tuscarawas County say that although the area is only at “five percent of what’s expected to happen” with regard to oil and gas development, interest from oil and gas companies is already driving the whole commercial real estate market, Canton Repository reports. As proof, they point to the recent sale of an antique mall at asking price that had been on the market for four years; it was a non-oil and gas buyer, but “there was a lot of interest from oil and gas companies in the building,” the article said.
