Rover pipeline developer seeks expedited approval from FERC

Energy Transfer Partners, developer of the Rover natural gas pipeline in Ohio, is seeking quicker approval for the project from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), citing the need to clear trees along the pipeline route to protect bats and migratory birds, reports the Akron Beacon Journal. The newspaper says the company has informed FERC that it needs to remove trees during a January-March 2017 window to protect the bats and birds before they start nesting. The $4.2 billion pipeline is intended to transport natural gas from the Marcellus and Utica shale plays in Pennsylvania and Ohio to market hubs.
