Rex Energy to invest in Utica shale drilling this year but not in 2018

Rex Energy plans to spend up to $80 million on drilling oil and natural gas wells in 2017, with a fifth of that money to be invested in its Utica shale holdings in Carroll County, Ohio, reports the Canton Repository. The newspaper says the rest of the money will be spent on the company's Marcellus and Upper Devonian Burkett shale operations in Pennsylvania. Rex officials also said the Pennsylvania-based company does not plan to spend any money on Utica shale drilling in 2018, according to the Repository. For more, read the full story.
