Pennsylvania governor signs bill for regulations on unconventional oil and gas industry

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf recently signed a bill that will pave the way for new unconventional oil and natural gas regulations in the state, reports the Pittsburgh Business Times. The newspaper says Senate Bill 279 will start the process of revamping Pennsylvania’s environmental and water-related regulations for the oil and gas industry. However, the regulations would only cover unconventional oil and gas activity because conventional oil and gas operations were removed from the bill before passage, according to the Business Times.
