Oil refinery headed for Newport

El. Paso Corp. is purchasing more than 200 acres approximately one mile southwest of Newport to construct an oil refinery facility, according to an article in The Times-Reporter. The refinery would "process the wet gas obtained from drilling in the Utica or Marcellus shale deposits in the Tuscarawas Valley region," separating the butane, propane, methane and other materials from the dry natural gas, the article said.
