Ohio’s natural gas production jumps 27.5% in third quarter

Natural gas production in Ohio’s Utica shale play grew 27.5% in the third quarter of 2017 compared to the third quarter of the prior year, reports Kallanish Energy. Citing data from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), the news site says natural gas production from horizontal shale wells rose from 361.18 billion cubic feet (Bcf) to 460.56 Bcf over the one-year period. ODNR also said oil production from horizontal wells increased by 2.96% in the third quarter compared to the prior year period.
