Ohio official: Good progress being made on Belmont County ‘cracker’ project

An Ohio official says PTT Global Chemical’s proposed ethane “cracker” plant in Belmont County, Ohio is on track for a final investment decision in early 2017, according to the Pittsburgh Business Times. “Good progress is being made on (the) PTT project," David Mustine, a senior adviser for JobsOhio, told an audience at a petrochemical construction conference in Pittsburgh. In addition, Ohio EPA Director Craig Butler told the Business Times that air and water permits for the project were filed recently with his agency, and the schedule calls for regulators to finish their initial work on the project by the end of 2016.
