Ohio governor appoints Bricker & Eckler's Warnock to Oil and Gas Leasing Commission

Gongwer News Service reports that Ohio Governor John Kasich has made his final appointments to the Oil and Gas Leasing Commission. The appointments fill the remaining three seats of the five-member board that was created to oversee leasing of public lands for oil and natural gas activity. The new commission members are Bricker & Eckler attorney Matthew W. Warnock, who will represent industry groups for a term ending September 2019; former state legislator and Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation Administrator Stephen Buehrer, representing the public for a term ending in September 2021; and former Ohio Environmental Protection Agency Director Richard Shank, representing environmental stakeholders for a term ending in September 2020. The governor made his first appointment, attorney Michael Wise, in October 2017.
