Ohio ‘cracker’ project part of Thai company’s international expansion

A proposed ethane “cracker” plant in eastern Ohio is part of an international push by one of the project’s developers, state-owned PTT Public Company Ltd. in Thailand, reports Columbus Business First. Citing a story in the Bangkok Post, the business newspaper says PTT is expanding its core energy business into Indonesia and Ohio. In addition, PTT is diversifying beyond energy, including coffee shops, restaurants and convenience stores to move away from “the lower net profit of the oil retailing business,” according to the Post.
