by According to a recent article in the New York Times, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo is expected to lift the "moratorium" on hydraulic fracturing. Administration officials are considering whether to maintain a ban on the fracking process within New York City's upstate watershed, as well as a watershed used by the city of Syracuse. It is not known when the decision will be made public, but the timing could coincide with the release of a long-awaited study on hydraulic fracturing by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
