Natural gas expected to top coal for U.S. power generation

Natural gas is about to surpass coal as the leading source of electric power generation in the United States, reports the Pittsburgh Business Times. The newspaper says the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) recently forecasted that natural gas is expected to be responsible for 33% of U.S. electricity generation during 2016, just edging coal's 32% share. It will be the first full year that gas has topped coal although it has happened monthly since April 2015, according to the Business Times. For more, read the full story.
