Natural gas customers to take lead on pipeline development

by The next phase of U.S. natural gas pipeline development will need to be supported by large gas customers and not “debt-laden gas producers,” reports the Argus news site. It says the shift from producer-backed pipeline projects in the Northeast is already in evidence with Duke Energy, Dominion Resources, NextEra Energy and others making significant investments in new infrastructure. Natural gas producers “remain debt-laden and are no longer able to invest in new infrastructure," according to Argus. For more, read the full story.
