Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District leases more than 6,000 acres in Guernsey and Noble counties to Antero Resources

During a meeting last Friday, the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District board of directors approved an oil and gas lease with Colorado-based Antero Resources for more than 6,000 acres on its property at Seneca Lake in Noble and Guernsey counties, Farm & Dairy reports (See the Jan 23, 2013, blog – “Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District seeks comments on oil and gas lease”). The lease, which includes a $6,200 per acre signing bonus and a 20 percent share of the royalties, “prohibits surface development on MWCD property and adds protections to adjacent private properties,” the article said.
