Kinder Morgan puts Utopia pipeline system into service

Kinder Morgan has placed into service the 270-mile Utopia pipeline system that capitalizes on Ohio's Utica shale play, reports the Houston Chronicle. The newspaper says the Houston-based pipeline operator developed the $500 million Utopia system to deliver ethane products from eastern Ohio to Windsor, Ontario. Kinder Morgan has a long-term contract with Canada's NOVA Chemicals Corp., which will use the products as feedstock for plastics production. For more, read the full story.
