Kasich's proposed energy plan governs the shale industry

by Gov. John Kasich gave a preview of his plan to overhaul Ohio's energy policies on Tuesday at the Greater Cleveland Partnership, The Plain Dealer reports. In addition to defining waste heat as renewable or advanced energy and developing new sources of power and transmission grids, the plan includes rules that "govern everything from well construction to mandatory disclosure of chemicals used in hydraulic fracturing of shale" as well as "new payments that gas and oil producers will have to make to local governments," the article said.
