Hydraulic fracturing is a $20-30 billion annual boon to the waste management industry

With $200 billion of capital invested in hydraulic fracturing annually, drilling companies are spending "between $20 billion and $30 billion on waste disposal" each year, proving itself a boon to the waste management industry, The Times-Picayune reports. The figures were presented by Michael Hoffman, managing director at the brokerage firm Wunderlich Securities, during the first day of the WasteExpo 2013 Conference and Exposition in New Orleans last week.
