Forbes thinks Chevron Corp. should invest in U.S. shale

With $21.5 billion to spend, Chevron Corp. is considering various opportunities to expand its portfolio, Forbes reports. After analyzing several purchasing opportunities for the company, Forbes recommended Chevron “direct its dollars at companies that are working on individual plays” in the United States, such as Continental Resources and Range Resources, as well as McMoRan Exploration, for which the author considers an acquisition by Chevron “almost inevitable,” the article said.
