FirstEnergy finds buyer for natural-gas fired power plants in Pennsylvania

Akron-based FirstEnergy Corp. has announced a tentative deal to sell four natural gas-fueled power plants in Pennsylvania for $885 million, reports TribLive in Pittsburgh. The news site says the company has a nonbinding letter of intent to sell the plants to an unidentified buyer that would also assume $335 million of FirstEnergy's debt. The plants, located in Springdale, Gans, Chambersburg and Hunlock, Pennsylvania, have a combined net value of about $1.2 billion, according to FirstEnergy. For more, read the full story.
