FERC: Pipeline problems for Utica, Marcellus regions to ease by 2019

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) says pipeline problems that have plagued the Utica and Marcellus shale regions will likely begin to ease by 2019. In its recently published “2015 State of the Markets Report,” FERC says “staff analysis indicates that new capacity additions should significantly relieve transportation constraints in these regions by 2019 if projects that are planned and under construction are approved and completed by the scheduled in-service dates.” The agency also says the outlook for 2016 continues to point to low natural gas prices because of continued strong production and high storage volumes.
