Federal grand jury indictment alleges Pennsylvania landman used fake companies and forged signatures to steal mineral rights

Last week, a federal grand jury indicted a Pennsylvania landman for allegedly "using fake companies and forged signatures" to steal mineral rights from Washington County, Pennsylvania, landowners, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. The U.S. attorney's office is "seeking forfeiture of $1.1 million of proceeds from the scheme," and said that "the victims include Range Resources, Pecos Bend Royalties of Texas, Buffalo Royalties of Texas and several mineral rights owners."
