Federal agency wants to rescind oil and gas drilling rule

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) wants to rescind its 2015 rule on hydraulic fracturing of oil and natural gas wells on federal and Indian lands, reports Oil & Gas Journal. In a Federal Register notice, BLM, which administers mineral rights in the Wayne National Forest in southeast Ohio, said the rule “is unnecessarily duplicative of state and some tribal regulations and imposes burdensome reporting requirements and other unjustified costs on the oil and gas industry.” For more, read the full story.
