Eclipse Resources transfers rights to 9,900 acres in Utica shale play

Pennsylvania-based Eclipse Resources has transferred the rights to about 9,900 leased acres in Noble and Monroe counties in Ohio’s Utica shale play, reports Crain’s Cleveland Business. The newspaper says the oil and natural gas company announced it received about $63.8 million for the rights from an undisclosed buyer. Eclipse said the assets sold "were predominately undeveloped acres in the Utica shale formation" and this “non-core acreage” was not included in its near-term drilling plans.
