Congressman receives update on Ohio ‘cracker’ plant project

U.S. Congressman Bill Johnson recently returned from a trip to Thailand where he met with PTT Global Chemical officials to discuss the company’s proposed ethane “cracker” plant in Belmont County, Ohio, reports WTOV9 in Steubenville. “[A decision] could come sooner, it could come closer to the end of the year,” Johnson told the television station, “but I don't think there's an arbitrary deadline timetable.” He said the delay on PTT proceeding with the cracker is “a matter of course” given that the company has already invested hundreds of millions of dollars in the project.
