Columbiana County Port Authority to demolish homes for Marathon Petroleum expansion

by The Columbiana County Port Authority voted last week to purchase and demolish five homes and one lot to accommodate Marathon Petroleum’s expansion at their industrial park, Morning Journal News reports. The company purchased 3.6 acres of industrial park property in July for $2.4 million, on which it will develop a staging area “for trucks bringing in oil and gas collected from shale gas wells” and a pipeline to transport the oil and gas to storage tanks that Marathon already has at the industrial park, the article said.
