Central Ohioans prepare for the shale industry

Along with other Central Ohio counties, Licking County officials are working to be prepared for the oil-and-gas industry should it start branching out from the eastern part of the state, The Columbus Dispatch reports (See the Apr 13, 2012, blog – "Delaware County anticipates shale activity"). Although most "authority over shale wells lies with the state," Licking County officials are forming a panel of county agency leaders that they hope will be able to influence the drillers and regulators, the article said.
