Central Ohio firms, including Bricker & Eckler, adjust and expand their services to meet the demands of the shale boom

A story appearing in last Friday’s Columbus Business First profiles a number of firms in Central Ohio that have expanded or adjusted their services to meet the demands of the shale boom. Among them are the engineering and site preparation services company Joe Knows Energy, which started in 2011 and has grown from two to twelve employees; Worthington Industries Inc.’s acquisition of Westerman Cos., which occurred in 2012 and resulted in the creation of 30 new positions; Kokosing Construction Company Inc. and its role as construction manager for two MarkWest Energy Partners LP processing plants; engineering firm Hull & Associates, Inc. which acquired GeoEnvironmental Consortium Inc. in 2009; and Bricker & Eckler LLP’s shale, oil and gas practice group, which has expanded from only one full-time attorney four years ago to a team of seven.
