Approval sought for pipeline to move natural gas from West Virginia to Atlantic coast

Atlantic Coast Pipeline, LLC, has applied to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for permission to build a 564-mile interstate natural gas pipeline from West Virginia to Virginia and North Carolina, reports the Akron Beacon Journal. The newspaper says the pipeline would transport natural gas from Harrison County, West Virginia southeast through Virginia, and then south through central North Carolina to Robeson County. Pending regulatory approval, construction is expected to begin in the second half of 2016, and the pipeline is to be in service in the fourth quarter of 2018.
