Wheeling to sign oil and gas lease with American Petroleum Partners

Wheeling, West Virginia is in line to receive about $2 million in up-front payments, plus production royalties for years to come, as city leaders plan to lease Marcellus and Utica shale natural gas development rights on approximately 336 acres of property, reports the Wheeling Intelligencer/News-Register. The newspaper says the city's lease agreement is with Canonsburg, Pa.-based American Petroleum Partners.
