Natural gas growth driving pipeline projects in West Virginia

Nine new pipelines that would travel through the Huntington, West Virginia area are proposed due to the growth of the state's natural gas industry, reports the Herald-Dispatch in Huntington. The newspaper says the projects include the Leach Xpress, Mountaineer Xpress and Buckeye Xpress pipelines that would carry natural gas from West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio to a pipeline interconnection near Marathon Petroleum’s refinery in Catlettsburg, Kentucky. The proposed Appalachian Storage Hub, which would serve six pipelines originating in Pennsylvania, is also among the projects under consideration. For more, read the full story.
