Feds file charges alleging a Great Plains Exploration employee illegally dumped brine into a Chagrin River tributary in Cuyahoga County

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Ohio announced recently that it is filing two charges against a Great Plains Exploration employee for allegedly discharging well drilling waste into a stormwater sewer leading to the Beecher Brook, which is a tributary of the Chagrin River, on two separate occasions in 2008. The brine originated from the completion of gas wells in Mayfield Heights and Highland Heights in Cuyahoga County. For more, read the full press release.
