Eclipse closes $92.2 million deal for Utica shale acreage in Pennsylvania

Eclipse Resources has closed on its $92.2 million acquisition of 44,500 net acres in north-central Pennsylvania’s Utica shale region, reports Kallanish Energy. The news site says the acreage in Potter and Tioga counties was acquired from Travis Peak Resources. The purchase “marks a major expansion of Utica Shale exploration/production from its core in eastern Ohio, northern West Virginia and southwest Pennsylvania, into an area where only a few Utica wells have thus far been drilled,” according to Kallanish.
