Companies break ground for natural gas-fired power plant in Pennsylvania

Competitive Power Ventures (CPV), GE and Osaka Gas recently broke ground for their natural gas-fired power plant near Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Located 60 miles east of Pittsburgh, the CPV Fairview Energy Center is a $700 million, 1,050-megawatt natural gas and ethane-fueled combined-cycle generating station that is expected to begin commercial operations in early 2020.
