House Republicans push for expanded oil-and-gas drilling to fund infrastructure projects

House Republicans are preparing legislation that would fund infrastructure projects with revenue gained from opening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to drilling, easing restrictions on off-shore drilling and expanding shale projects in Western states by leasing public land, The Hill reports. Although the House Committee on Natural Resources passed these three measures on Wednesday, the bills are expected to face tough opposition in the Democrat-controlled Senate, The Wall Street Journal reports.
