Shell picks Pennsylvania for site of ethane cracker
|
Shell Chemical announced today that it has selected a site in Potter and Center Townships in Beaver County, about 35 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for its ethane cracker, The Wall Street Journal reports. Shell said that it chose the site for its "good access to liquids-rich natural gas resources, water, road and rail transportation infrastructure, power grids, economics, and sufficient acreage to accommodate facilities for a world-scale petrochemical complex and potential future expansions," the article said.
