ODNR to double its oil and gas oversight workforce
|
With estimates from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources that the number of horizontal hydraulic fracturing wells in the state will jump from 65 currently to 2,250 by 2015, the department is working to double the number of oil and gas regulation employees who can issue permits and inspect wells, Columbus Business First reports. The ODNR has 75 employees tasked with regulating the oil and natural gas industry in Ohio and plans to use revenue from a fee and severance tax to hire another 75 by the end of the first quarter of 2013, the article said.
