Range Resources plans to spend nearly $1 billion on drilling projects

Range Resources Corp. plans to spend nearly $1 billion on natural gas drilling in 2018, with most of the spending earmarked for the Marcellus shale play in southwestern Pennsylvania, reports the Pittsburgh Business Times. However, the newspaper notes the $941 million planned for drilling is below the $1.15 billion that Range had previously forecasted for 2018 and the $1.27 billion it actually spent in 2016. Still, Range expects 25% percent growth in the Marcellus region as it will be able to move more natural gas out of the Appalachian basin by the end of the 2018, according to the Business Times.
